Run the entire Ice Age trail in Dane County! This is a new Fat Ass style run entirely on the Ice Age Trail. Total mileage for the Ice Age National Scenic Trail within Dane County is approximately 67 miles. The Dane Drifters Ultra-Run will cover the entire distance over two days, Saturday and Sunday. A bus ride will be provided from the daily end point to the start of each day’s segment. This provides runners the opportunity to have their car waiting for them at the finish each day.

Three distance options are provided for runners:

    1. Solo Run the entire distance over two days.
    2. A one day option will also be provided for those wishing less mileage (35.4 miles Saturday and 31.6 miles Sunday). Runners can choose either day for the one day option.
    3. A multi-person relay option. Relay teams can choose to split the 67 miles anyway they want. Meaning they can split into one day each or switch one or more times each day. Relay teams will need to provide their own transportation between segments. The bus will only be available to taxi relay runners from the finish to the starting point race day morning.

Registration and details found at www.runrace.net.

This off-road race takes place in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin, home of the Midwest’s premiere mountain biking and hiking trail system.  The event includes a sprint, olympic and relay options. One of the largest off-road triathlons in the country, the race originally took place at Telemark Pointe, a Telemark Resort property 9 miles east of the former destination resort.  After a several-year recess the race is back in 2016 and we have moved it to a new venue in Seeley, Wisconsin.  We are confident you will have as much fun as you did in the past. The race will deliver a truly unique experience. Beautiful lake, scenic trails, varied and challenging terrain — all hosted in nature’s playground around Seeley, Wisconsin. The race site is Silverthorn Park on the scenic shores of Silverthorn Lake 11 miles north of Hayward, Wisconsin on US Hwy 63 (see a map to the race site here).  The bike and run are staged on the popular Seeley Hills trail system. Most of the 5K course is on mowed trails through beautiful open tall grass prairie with rolling hills. The final half mile is wooded, but very friendly for runners and walkers.   The 10K - The first mile or so is on mowed trails through meadows with some rolling hills. Miles two and three are through majestic pines and spruce, fairly wide trail with hills and some roots. The balance of the course circles Glen Lake on a challenging single track through the woods with plenty of roots, rocks, climbs and descents with a small section of asphalt at the campground. It won't be your fastest 10K, but certainly your most memorable.   Halloween Theme: Dress in your favorite Halloween themed gear. Remember the event is on a trail and gear must be appropriate and safe for a trail run!   Race Day Schedule: 7:30 am-registration and packet pickup 9:00am- Run start 10:00am Kids 1/2 mile   Proceeds: All the proceeds of the event will go towards the “Topper Partnership Program” – Academic Achievements and Scholarships, to financially assist students for post-high school education.  Fun run proceeds will benefit the Technology Resource Center   PLEASE NOTE:   The terrain for the kid’s fun run may encounter some roots, rocks and slope. Strollers with young children are not recommended.   5K - $35.00 10K - $40.00 Fun Run - $10.00 (5th Grade and Younger)

Distances (estimated) 4.5 miles, 9 miles and 14 miles officially, but feel free to run/walk/snow shoe as much as you like just check in after you have finished the official distance.

Kenosha County is filled with great county parks and wonderful running trails, please join us at KD County Park in Western Kenosha County in the Twin Lakes/New Munster area.

This Hill-n-Dale course has some great scenic views overlooking a crystal clear lake and you just might find yourself needing to take a few "selfies" during your trail adventure! The trail is well maintained and not highly technical so this course is welcoming, but also challenging with hills for those wanting to really test their fitness level.

This is a looped course and runners can select between the 8 mile, 5.5 mile or 3 mile events, and walkers can select either the 5.5 mile or 3 mile events. Note that no awards are given for walkers or runners in the 3 mile event.  We are very friendly in in this regard, if you signed up for example for the 5.5 mile run and you are feeling great and want to run and additional loop or 8 miles, have at it, just let us know at the finish you ran the new distance.  If you enjoy running or walking with your dog, well this event is also DOG FRIENDLY!!

START: 7:00 a.m. on May 13, 2017 at the Holdingford High School. Runners will head west from the Holdingford High School for one mile and join the Lake Wobegon Trail 3/4 mile north of the Holdingford Trail Facility. Runners will run through the towns of Holdingford, Albany, Avon, and St. Joseph. The race finishes at the Trail Facility in St. Joseph.

COURSE: The course is flat, fast, and picturesque. The course is certified (USATF #MN-08042-RR) and is a Boston Qualifier. Many people feel that the trail from Holdingford to St. Joseph is the prettiest portion of the Lake Wobegon Trail. The trail is primarily rural except as it passes through the four small towns along the route. In a post on the "A Prairie Home Companion" website, Garrison Keillor said this about the Lake Wobegon Trail: "I‘ve biked the bike trail ... and love the ordinary beauty of farmland and meadow and the towns along it."

Petrifying Springs County Park in Kenosha, WI, is the location and provides perhaps the best trails along the Pike River.  This is an ideal trail running and walking event for the more adventure-minded runners and walkers.  You will encounter single track trails, groomed trails, up and down hills, and, if the Pike River cooperates, a river crossing (the water at the crossing points is typically less than 12 inches deep).  If the course sounds a little challenging, at times it can be, but it is welcoming and we promise that you will love this course!

Coureurs de Bois (which means to run in the woods) offers four different distances for runners; 4 miles, 8 miles, 12 miles and 16 miles and two different distance for walkers; 4 miles and 8 miles.  Runners can also run the 16 miles as a two person relay, alternating the 4 mile loop. The relay as it turns out can be a great event for couples with younger children, while one runs the other is playing with the kids!  Last year a couple told me it was the first time they could run the same event together!

  • 07-29-2017 - 12-31-1969 All day

Mark your 2017 calendar, program your GPS and start forming your team(s) for perhaps the Best Utra Relay Event in the Midwest. The Hil100+py Relay is held at the Wayne E. Dannehl National Cross Country Course on the campus of UW-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  In the simplest terms, this is a running tailgate party on one of the best high school and collegiate dedicated cross country courses in the country.

There is no limit on the number of runners per team, but there is a minimum of two runners per team.  Each team will run 33 loops on the 5K course, not everyone has to run the same number of loops but everyone does have to have a great time!  We track the number of loops for each team, provide loop splits for all 33 loops and provide continuous live updates on a large screen near the exchange zone.  We have also decided to change the format for entry fees, it will be based on the number of runners on your team.

Each loop you have the option to hand off to a teammate or run another loop based on your team's strategy, but either way you will start and finish in XC Thrillogy Village and the sounds of our DJ.  Imagine the exchange zone and start/finish area lined with all the relay teams for hundreds of meters, music keeping the party on the right note, great food served by the UW-Parkside XC & track teams, craft beer & soda available for free throughout the day, fun activities throughout the event and a tailgate party kind of feel, with lots of running and fun for everyone!

This Hilloopy is run in conjunction with the Hot Hilly Hairy 85K, 50K, 30K, 20K and 10K.

This will be a family-friendly event, located at Silver Lake Park. You can run/walk as an individual or as a two-person relay for 5m (individual only distance), 10m, 15m or 20m (15 & 20 miles are run only events). Current distances are estimated. We will be running primarily on trails which are wooded, hilly, some open spaces and have great scenic views.

This will be a very special event that will be highlighted with good food, craft beer, craft soda, music, creative swag, beach fun and amazing trail-loving runners/walkers.  There will be awards, some embarrassing, others personal, some based on performance/effort and they will all be memorable. Non-running family members and friends are invited but there will be a "Guest Fee" (not everything is free!!). The Park Daily Fee will be included in the pre-registered entry fee only if you do not already have a state park pass.  There will be same day sign up and you will need to pay the Park Daily Fee.

  • 09-30-2017 12:00 am - 09-30-2017 12:00 am

The Pike River Trail Run & Walk will start like a cross country meet and then you will experience single track, rocks, roots, water and hills! Some running will be on a paved bike path, golf course, groomed trails and single track rugged trails. You will cross/run through the Pike River two times (you have the option of running/walking around the water and using the bridge) throughout the 6.5 miles. The Trail Walk will follow the same trail as the runners for about 1 mile, you will then be on some of the best walking trails in Southeast Wisconsin. The trees will be bursting with Fall colors and if you like bring your camera/smart phone for some great pictures and selfies!

This event is part of the Kenosha County Fall Wheel Ride presented by Kenosha County Parks and Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser which includes a 5.8 mile and 2.3 mile bike rides starting from Simmons Island and Bose Elementary School and finishing at Petrifying Springs Park. The finish of the Fall Wheel Ride and Pike River Trail Run & Walk is at Shelter One where everyone can enjoy the great food, drinks and other fun activities. Visit www.kenoshacounty.org/publicworks/parks or call Kenosha County Parks at 262-857-1869 for complete information on the day's bike event.

  • 11-12-2017 12:00 am - 12-31-1969 7:00 pm

Our plan is to have this low key ultra be a family and friend event as well, by offering different distances for runners, walkers and  relay runners.

The course will allow it to be somewhat spectator friendly and will be well supported.
You can select between 4 miles (solo - run or walk), 14 miles (solo or relay - run or walk), 28 miles (solo or relay - run or walk), and 42 miles (solo or relay - run only).  We will be using the Horse Trail and the Blue Trail.  For our relay teams... with our figure "8" style course with the small loop being roughly 4 miles and the larger loop being around 10 miles perhaps this is the perfect combination of distances.  You can run the 14, 28 and 42 as a relay or walk the 14 or 28 as a relay.  Currently the distances are estimated.

  • 12-09-2017 12:00 am - 12-31-1969 7:00 pm

The XC Thrillogy Hateya Trail Run (approx. 6.4 miles) and the Hateya Trail Walk (approx. 3.5 miles) will take you on an adventure through the trails in Petrifying Springs Park. The finish of the XCThrillogy Hateya Trail Run is at Shelter One where everyone can enjoy the great food, drinks and a bonfire to warm up at. The run will start with a cross country style start, before you head into the woods in which you will encounter some single track trails, rocks, roots, nasty hills, and possibly snow. This will be perhaps the most challenging course you have run, and if you have never ran a trail race, then the time is now!

It is December in Southern Wisconsin so we could have snow on the trails, which would make the trail even better! But you will run on groomed trails, single track trails and some open green ways through the park. This a well marked trail run and we allow runners averaging 15 min mile pace to finish the race. Running course is estimated at 6.4 miles. Walkers, you will have a combination of trails and bike path over an estimated 3.5 miles.
