Wausau runner finishes third in Leadville 100 Trail Run

Andrea Metz, an ultra runner from Wausau, raced onto the podium Sunday in one of the sport's signature events, the Leadville 100 Trail Run.

Metz covered the high-altitude run in 21 hours, 13 minutes. She finished in third place, an hour and 14 minutes behind the race winner and Leadville native, Lynette Clemons.

Ryan Sandes, 29, of Cape Town, South Africa, was the overall winner of the 29th annual run. He finished in 16 hours, 46 minutes.
