Waukesha native Gwen Jorgensen wrapped up her European tour over the weekend by racing to top-10 finishes in the individual and team contests as part of the ITU world championships in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Jorgensen earned a trip to the Olympics earlier in the month and took her first ITU World Cup victory in Hungary on Aug. 12.

In Switzerland, she finished sixth in the ITU Elite Sprint Triathlon World Championships on Saturday. She finished the short race in 59 minutes, 2 seconds -- about 30 seconds behind the winner, Barbara Riveros Diaz.

In the team competition on Sunday, she posted a time of 18 minutes, 20 seconds on the mixed squad. The U.S. team of Jorgensen, Sarah Groff, Barrett Brandon and Mark Fretta finished fifth overall.
