Ice Age trail group plans moonlight trek

hiking

The Washington/Ozaukee County Ice Age Trail group will take advantage of a big, but-not-quite-full moon to light their hike at the Sunburst Ski Hill Friday night.

Anyone interested in the hike should meet at the Ice Age Trail parking lot on Ridge Road, near Sunburst, then joined the car pool to Highway H and 45. The trek from there will be about 2.5 miles, with some hills to tackle on the way to the top of the ski hill.

Views of the sunset and moonrise should be spectacular from the hills, according to the group's promo.

For more information contact Craig Sanford: craigsan@wi.rr.com, or call 262-370-3322. More details can be found here.

The official full moon will rise Saturday evening.
