Kenosha County executive cited in crash with bicyclist
Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way Wednesday, after he collided with a bicyclist pedaling with a passenger near the county administrative building.
The bicyclist and his companion suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital after the 3:38 p.m. crash, but they left before receiving medical treatment, according to the police report.
Reached Thursday, Kreuser said he was traveling south on 11th Ave., and turning left to go east on 56th St. when the collision occurred. The bicyclist was traveling east on the sidewalk.
Police cited the bike rider, Trevon Black, 18, for riding a bike with no brakes and riding double on a single bike. The passenger also was cited for doubling up on the two-wheeler.
Kreuser served in the Wisconsin Assembly from 1993 to 2008, when he was elected to the county executive post.
