Waukesha bypass plan includes bridge over Glacial Drumlin Trail

trails

Bicyclists and pedestrians on the Glacial Drumlin Trail will avoid traffic at Hwy. TT, in one version of the Waukesha bypass.

A bridge would carry the four-lane roadway over the trail that extends from Waukesha to Cottage Grove. Trail users now have to cross the two-lane Hwy. TT.

This story from Journal Sentinel reporter Laurel Walker has the details on the bypass plans.

  1. Talk about a waist of money. Wouldnt it be cheaper to put the bike trail over or under the road.

  2. buckofama-
The bike trail has nothing to do with the construction of the bridge. The railroad company demanded that any change to the crossing that would increase traffic volume would require a separated grade crossing. Since the trail is in close proximity to the tracks, it would be included in the grade separation, much like the St. Paul Ave. bridge.

  3. "Waist" of money? Is that like money from a stripper's g-string?

  4. Buckofama - do you actually read and comprehend the articles, or just shoot your mouth off in an ignorant fashion?
