Bayfield climber to tackle Eiffel Tower, Kilamanjaro
Two years after reaching the summit of Mount Everest, Lori Schneider has lined up two new adventures to help promote an active lifestyle for people with multiple sclerosis.
Schneider, who lives in Bayfield, will climb the 1,665 steps to the top of the Eiffel Tower on Wednesday, World MS Day. The hike will be a training exercise for her next significant climb on Mount Kilimanjaro.
The July expedition will include 15 people with MS or Parkinson's disease, along with companion climbers and medical personnel. Schneider will also be a featured speaker in Paris, commemorating World MS Day.
Mountain climbing and adventure helped Schneider come to terms with her MS diagnosis 10 years ago, and she is dedicated to helping others realize that they can dream and make their dreams come true.
"I want to help people move beyond their limitations and the labels that prevent them from living their dreams," Schneider says.
