Updated: Man stabbed on Oak Leaf Trail
Milwaukee police are investigating a stabbing and robbery that took place on the Oak Leaf Trail, near Prospect Ave., about 7:30 a.m. Monday.
The victim was an 18-year-old man from Bayside, who was stabbed in the abdomen. The injury did not appear to be life threatening, based on the preliminary information from authorities.
According to police, the suspect attempted to steal a cellphone from the 18-year-old victim he encountered bicycling on the Oak Leaf, near Oakland Ave. The victim was stabbed during a struggle.
Milwaukee police recovered some of the victim's property nearby. The suspect is still at large. Police believe the man is homeless. He's described as a black male in his 40s, about 5 feet 5 inches and 150 pounds. He is missing his front teeth. He was wearing a black hooded shirt and dirty black jeans.

other than the fact that victim may have been able to shoot him (or accidentally get shot himself, remember the guy is likely mentally ill). I
don't see how a gun would have changed much, other than producing
some other, really much worse outcomes.
This area is a safe area, I'm through there most every day of my life.
Some homeless people to hang around there because there's lots of
places for them to hide out and sleep. More police presence is good but
I'm not sure how much time they would be expected to clear out
homeless people from all the different spots they can hide along that
route. I doubt that's any type of priority for our police force. It shouldn't
be.

I won't give up my activities at the behest of the gun industry. They are just another corporation with an agenda that does not consider my needs. I do not want to buy beg or get their "protection" from their racket.
